Workspace

I haven't done much new work. I did finish up my office redo, I designed all the big cabinets and had a local company in Manchester (Alosso carpentry) build them for me. I really wanted something made of wood not particle board, I want these things to last forever!

Ten Little Things - number book

The latest issue of American Patchwork and Quilting shows a project made with my new fabric line called, Ten Little Things. This fabric will be for sale sometime in March. The number book is a free pattern that goes with the line, designed by Angela Yosten. I found the top image with those two adorable boys from quilter and blogger Camille Roskelley, those are actually her little boys, how cute!

So the first fabric line I did with Moda was a big hit, so they have me working on a new collection, farm animals! Here is a glimpse of some of the imagery.

Ten little things

I'm thrilled to announce my new fabric line called Ten Little Things, which will be hitting the market this March.

I didn't really think of it until now, but I guess this is more of a boy friendly fabric. I'm not really a "pink" kind of gal, so I just never use it, well maybe peach, but no pink. Anyway, If you want to see more click here to see a PDF of all the designs that will be available. Happy quilting!

Final woodland image

Ok so replaced the bear silhouette with a dear, added in an owl and changed the fox's head. I think this thing is done!

Woodland Growth Chart - Update

I'm working on a new growth chart for a client. They only gave me a week to get this done! Yikes! Was about to work on the bear, but after showing them what I had done so far I was told to replace the bear with a buck and some how stick an owl in there. I didn't realize deers were on the hot list. Note to self, make more deers!

Forest animal finger puppets

Just got some samples of animal puppets that I did for Mudpuppy. You can buy them on their website for only $6, ah, the magic of printing in China.

Any who, woodland creatures are super popular at the moment, and I'm sure they will be for a while. Currently I'm working on a growth chart that has squirrels, birds and other critters, still a work in progress.

Magnetic garden

Working on a magnetic garden kit for Mudpuppy. I have to do a few backgrounds (this flower vase, a trellis, window box, and a garden) and then a bunch of interchangeable flowers.

As well as flowers I was thinking of adding in a little bee, a bird, or maybe even a little beetle. Can you guys think of any other little critters or objects I can add?

New: Jenn Ski

Hello everyone, my name is Jenn Ski and I'm the newest member. I'm so happy to have found this group! I think being part of a group like this really encourages creativity.

1. What’s your illustration background?
I have a BFA in Graphic Design from UMass. In school I mainly worked with type and layouts. I hardly ever created any illustrations - I was even told by my internship sponsor that I didn't have what it takes to be an illustrator!

After I graduated I realized that GD wasn't really for me, so I began sketching abstract shapes, which later morphed into animals. The ABC image below was my first experiment.

2. Where do you live? I live in a fabulous 50's home in NH. I spent 2 years looking for it and I think it was well worth the wait. I live there with my husband, Al, and our cat, Floyd.

3. What are your sources of inspiration?
I love picking up vintage illustration books, wrapping paper, fabric... Also a lot of my work is inspired by cells, seeds, pods and whatnot.

4. What are your favorite techniques?
When I started my abstract paintings I worked with cut paper on harboard, but now I do almost everything digitally. I use scanned paper and fabric for texture.

5. Do you have a favorite food?
I love Vietnamese food! Pho Ga, mmm...

6. What’s your most productive time of the day?
I'm a night-owl.

7. Do you have a favorite place?
I love being outside gardening around my home. This past year I planted over 200 bulbs, I can't wait for spring!
