It's official - I've started my LAST semester of my graphic design program. (Woooo!) Final Portfolio. Already, I'm swamped. My illustration work has fallen to the wayside once again, so I figured I'd share what I am working on at the moment.
Our first assignment was to invent a company then create a logo and marketing items to go into a pocket folder. (Brochure, letterhead, business card, etc). I created a company called Good Boy which is an all-natural dog product company. Upon class review, it was decided that I should change the name to Good Dog so as to not turn off owners of girl dogs. I think that's a bit funny, but oh well. In any case, here's the very first draft/sketch for my cover and interior spread. Just so you know what I've been up to and where my head is these days:
Have a good weekend! Stay warm!
It will be fun to follow your thinking process as you work on and tweak your designs. Even though it's graphic design, it still ties in with the revision process we all go through when illustrating or working in other mediums. Hang in there, you'll be done before you know it!
ReplyDeleteThis is some great work! But I disagree with your class, I prefer Good Boy. :)
ReplyDeleteThis is really nice, Nicole. I like Good Boy better, as well. Does the Pillsbury Dough Boy keep girls from eating crescent rolls? I think not.
ReplyDeleteThanks everyone! I kept Good Boy...we'll see how many complaints I get during critique tonight. Haha!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you kept Good Boy. Even though I have a female dog, I would still buy products with that name! I like your use of color in these. That top image is fabulous in it's simplicity!! Lovely work!!!
